On Monday, a new Quinnipiac poll exposed that a majority (52%) of Democrats would flee America if it was invaded like Ukraine by a hypothetical enemy. The poll also showed a vast majority of Republicans and a majority of independents loved America enough to take up arms and fight for their country. Well, now they tell you. The network morning shows on Monday all admitted that ramping up oil production in the wake of the war in Ukraine will “take some time.” There was no mention of the Biden administration’s war on energy independence. And NBC’s Today mentioned buying an electric car instead to save money on gas.

Early Friday, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s stooges in parliament (known as the Duma) passed a law criminalizing accurate reporting about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with a possible sentence of 15 years in jail. When it came to this actual and genuine attack on free, independent journalism, NBC’s Today omitted it from their Friday morning show.

During Thursday’s Good Morning America, ABC aired co-host and former Clinton official George Stephanopoulos grilling Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Russia’s merciless war against the innocent people of Ukraine and the Vladimir Putin regime’s lies about the invasion and their ugly lies about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy being a neo-Nazi.

Reacting Wednesday to President Biden’s State of the Union address from the night prior, the broadcast network mornings newscasts on ABC, CBS, and NBC largely decided to play White House stenographers in touting Biden’s “call[s] for unity” and focus “on common ground and not...partisanship.” It resulted, one network said, in cheers that were akin to American unity after 9/11.

During interviews with Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday, both CBS Mornings and ABC’s Good Morning America questioned the Democrat from the left while discussing President Biden’s State of the Union address. When it comes to ideological labels for Supreme Court nominees, the networks have one rule: Republican nominees are “staunch,” worrisome conservatives. Democratic picks are rarely labeled as extreme liberals.

On the Saturday edition of Today on NBC, political contributor and PBS Washington Week host Yamiche Alcindor reacted to the news of Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the Supreme Court with excitement that Democratic activists will have another voice on the Court, but lamented that her ability to actually bring change is limited.

The network newscasts on Thursday morning parroted Biden talking points when it comes to the President’s handling of the escalating Ukranian crisis. None of them questioned Joe Biden’s control of a situation that seems to be spiraling out of control. Instead, NBC assured Americans that the Democrat is “sensitive” to ramifications like sky high gas prices.
