In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published early Wednesday morning, journalist Ronan Farrow discussed revelations in his new book, Catch and Kill, that Hollywood mogul and accused sexual predator Harvey Weinstein tried to blackmail NBC News into silence about his alleged crimes by threatening to go public with similar accusations against former Today show anchor Matt Lauer.

In a new upcoming book by journalist Ronan Farrow, Catch and Kill, former NBC News employee Brooke Nevils reveals that disgraced Today show co-host Matt Lauer anally raped her in a hotel room during the 2014 winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, while NBC was covering the games. On Wednesday, all three network morning shows, including Today, covered the shocking allegations.

On Monday, both NBC’s Today show and CBS This Morning marked the two-year anniversary of the #MeToo movement by interviewing the New York Times reporters who broke the Harvey Weinstein story in the fall of 2017.
