After mocking Easter not once but twice, I guess Syfy’s Happy! couldn’t resist another cheap jab at Christians. The grisly series found a brand-new topic to smear this week: crisis pregnancy centers.

CBS All-Access has officially hit a low point in The Twilight Zone reboot. Yes, this is somehow worse than the racist cop narrative two episodes ago. The previously iconic sci-fi series has now been reduced to a forty-minute jab against Donald Trump.

With Easter just a few days away, we were bound to see yet another awful display by Syfy’s Happy! Sure enough, the series gives us yet another jab at the religious holiday for someone’s sick amusement. This time, it’s “bringing sexy back” to the holiday, although the resurrection of Christ was never meant to be sexy to begin with.

If you thought the profanity was unbearable in The Twilight Zone, you haven’t seen anything yet. The creators of the CBS All-Access revival weren’t shy about adding 2019 politics to the show, and now we have seen their full effort on display. In this case, it’s another perpetuation of the racist cop boogeyman.

The Twilight Zone is probably one of the most impactful and thought-provoking shows of all time. Even just the phrase “twilight zone” is iconic. From there, it’s only natural that CBS has attempted to re-adapt the show no less than three times in the past sixty years. From the season premiere alone, Syfy’s Happy! is, looking to be one big violent, tasteless, abhorrent mess this year. Based on a limited-run comic series, the show is charting new territory in its second season, and by the look of things, it isn’t pretty. It even just might rival Preacher in hating Christianity.

Showtime’s SMILF, if you haven’t heard, is still a crude, obnoxious take on single motherhood. The only difference this week is an odd change of genre. The latest episode gives us the usual hatred of prayer with a bonus reference to the “kids in cages” narrative.

Freeform’s Siren is so far beyond the channel’s slogan “a little forward” in promoting a liberal agenda, it's comical. When the show’s not wallowing in the cliched evil oil company plot, it’s doing worse with exploring polyamorous relationships. The spring finale serves as the epitome of both with a little eco-terrorism and polyamorous sex.

Showtime’s SMILF has long roster of hypocrisy and awfulness in just two seasons on the air. But would it really be so tasteless as to have a pregnant woman wear a Planned Parenthood t-shirt while going into labor? By now you probably already know the answer.

Well, we can’t say we weren’t warned. Freeform’s mermaid series Siren finally made good on its promise to create a polyamorous relationship between its three main characters, one man, one woman and one mermaid. In the latest episode, we witness the start of the actual interspecies threesome on Valentine's Day.

Siren, Freeform’s sci-fi fantasy series about mermaids, is really the last show that should be trying to make any commentary on politics or culture. Sadly, it’s trying to do both. In case the second season premiere's episode painting oil companies as an ongoing threat wasn’t enough, this week confirms without a doubt that they are “tearing the ecosystem apart.”

Despite terrible storylines and a notable, real-life #MeToo-type scandal, Showtime’s SMILF has somehow returned for a second season. In an effort to prove how grossly insane that decision was, the latest episode goes full throttle with the disgusting and sacrilegious “humor.” Sadly, last week's fairly tame season two premiere seems to have only been a fluke.

Netflix and Marvel’s The Punisher has returned for a second season despite a massive purge of Marvel shows in the previous year. The demand for ultra-violence and pseudo-politics were apparently enough to prevent its cancellation, so far. Rest assured, all of that returns for another thirteen episodes.
