Morning Joe is enraptured by Michelle Obama's line from her DNC speech: "hope is making a comeback." But remind us: who's been in charge for the last—apparently hopeless—four years? Oh, right: it was the administration of Joe Biden and . . . Kamala Harris.

Conservative Twitter lit up Tuesday when Gov. Andy Beshear (D-Ky.) popped off on Morning Joe that J.D. Vance has no empathy for women getting abortions after being raped, and we should ”make him go through this.” Vance tweeted over the video that Beshear was a “disgusting person.”

On Morning Joe, Mike Barnicle predicts that Kamala Harris will finish Trump off in their debate. She's "a very sophisticated, very intelligent woman, and she hammers him like a prosecutor and doesn't let him off the hook, he will go -- I can't say it -- But something will snap in him and that will be it."  

On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough expresses his preference for Bernie Sanders as president over Donald Trump, saying, "If Mike Pence were president or Bernie Sanders were president, I'd worry much less than if Donald Trump were president." On Morning Joe, George Conway, playing off Trump's Truth Social post claiming that Kamala's Michigan crowd size had been fabricated, called Trump a delusional narcissistic sociopath, adding that if his family cared about him, they would have him committed to a psychiatric hospital. Conway compared Trump to Hitler in his final days in the bunker, moving around divisions that didn't exist.

It turned upside down on Morning Joe Friday. Joe Scarborough approvingly cited Peggy Noonan suggesting that Trump has become Biden on the "mental acuity" meter. Katty Kay said the Democratic ticket is like "sunny Reagan." 

On Morning Joe, after Mike Barnicle slobbers over the Walz VP announcement rally, Jonathan Lemire enthuses over Tim Walz's line, "mind your own damn business." Democrats the new libertarians? Hardly! They're the party that  wants to control countless facets of people's lives.  

On Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough invokes Christian liturgy to celebrate the Democrats' current good fortune: "Gene Robinson, before we get to the news of the day, behold, you bring tidings of good news to Democrats east, west, north, and South, for unto them is born the reason for exuberance."

Vice President Kamala Harris announced her running mate pick, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), on Tuesday morning. MSNBC’s Morning Joe wasted no time in showering praise on the Governor for his apparently numerous positive qualities, insisting he would help secure the win for the Harris campaign with a “twinkle in his eye.”

Eugene Robinson agrees with Mike Barnicle that Trump is "deeply damaged," adding that he is "dangerous," "not a well man," and has "some deep insecurity and feeling of inadequacy."

Calling Donald Trump racist and sexist is getting rather shopworn. Needing some fresh material, Morning Joe broke out a new attack line on Trump today, calling him "a badly-damaged, deeply-damaged man." On Tuesday, MSNBC Morning Joe hosted liberal commentators Molly Jong-Fast and Donny Deutsch and gave the former the floor to suggest that Senator and Republican Vice Presidential nominee J.D. Vance was “racist” and wanted “more white Children.” But in reality, Vance was in an interracial marriage and had three biracial children.

Somebody might want to run an AI analysis of Eugene Robinson's current Washington Post column: "No, really, Republicans are getting weirder." It'd be interesting to see if it were written in the style of Kamala Harris speechwriters, or some other member of her campaign. He threw the W-word eight times in his column and six times on MSNBC today.
