On Monday morning’s New Day, CNN host John Berman brought on CNN White House Correspondent John Harwood to discuss the 2020 election. In the interview, Harwood proclaimed that President Trump was not “connected to reality” and that “it’s not really in serious dispute anymore that President Trump is not up to this job.”

On New Day, CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta said never mind about a second coronavirus wave: we might not get out of the first wave "for the foreseeable future."  Gupta then called President Trump's joke at the Tulsa rally about testing "nearly criminal."

On Monday morning’s New Day, CNN hosts Erica Hill and John Berman interviewed Maggie Haberman, CNN political analyst and New York Times White House correspondent. Throughout the interview, both hosts and Haberman taunted President Trump for appearing “defeated” in a video of him after his rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday.

On Friday morning’s New Day, CNN host Jim Sciutto interviewed Mick Mulvaney, President Trump’s former Chief of Staff. Sciutto queried Mulvaney about the allegations made against Trump by John Bolton, in his new book, The Room Where it Happened. Sciutto suggested that those who witnessed the alleged events in Bolton’s book testify “under oath” about the claims and attacked…

On Thursday morning’s New Day, CNN host Jim Sciutto interviewed Tulsa City Council Vice Chair, Vanessa Hall-Harper, about President Trump’s upcoming campaign rally in the city. Sciutto used the interview to paint the event as a looming crisis by suggesting that many the attendees will contract COVID-19 and that white supremacists will attend in order to perpetrate violence.

On Thursday’s New Day, CNN’s Alisyn Camerota, Jim Sciutto, and Mitch Landrieu were very impressed by former National Security Adviser John Bolton's new book, In the Room Where it Happened. Landrieu, a CNN political commentator and former Mayor of New Orleans, declared that the book confirmed the impeachment charges brought against President Trump by the House Democrats. 

On Wednesday's New Day show, CNN host Alisyn Camerota took a tiny step toward admitting that there are problems with the way the media, including her own network, cover police violence, hurting the image of good police officers.

While discussing the fatal police shooting of Rayshard Brooks Monday morning on CNN, political commentator Angela Rye gave some dangerous advice to black people “fighting back” against police officers. 

On Tuesday's New Day on CNN, the liberal news network's flagship morning show served as a microcosm of one of the big problems with how the media covers police-involved violence, exaggerating it into more of a racial issue than it actually is. The three-hour show highlighted three cases in which suspects died during arrests under circumstances similar to George Floyd's death.
