Vice President Kamala Harris began her speech marking the one-year anniversary of the January 6 riot by comparing it to Pearl Harbor and 9/11. I joked the "independent fact-checkers are taking the day off." They didn't. Snopes declared conservative radio host Todd Starnes "Mostly False," not Kamala Harris. 

On November 15, Rep. Cori Bush (radical D-Mo.) tweeted that “When we marched in Ferguson, white supremacists would hide behind a hill near where Michael Brown Jr. was murdered and shoot at us.” Where were the “Fact Checkers”? FactCheck.Org? No. The Washington Post? No. PolitiFact ignored it, although they posted two “False” ratings on Kevin McCarthy on November 19.

The fact-checkers at Snopes.com haven't done a single fact check on President Biden's statements since the Taliban took over Afghanistan. But they did do a fact check on October 18 attacking President Trump for being soft on the Taliban. A meme by the leftists at Occupy Democrats was ruled "Mostly True."

Snopes co-founder David Mikkelson has been accused of publishing plagiarized articles under a false name.

Here’s an easy test to see whether fact-checking websites can make any claim to be “independent” and nonpartisan in tone. Biden staffers claimed Republicans “defunded the police.” That’s a bald-faced lie.

Fact checkers are just as susceptible to bias and narrative-pushing as any other class of journalist. Despite this, major media organizations treat them as a source of reliably unbiased information — as do social media companies like FaceBook and Twitter, who have granted them the power to flag and remove anything they deem “misinformation.”

Snopes.com has a habit of running to Biden's defense, even when the "facts" aren't exactly making Biden look good. Take Biden clearly bumbling and not being able to recall the name of his own Defense Secretary. Snopes somehow suggested this was in some sort of doubt under the headline "Did Biden Forget Defense Secretary Austin’s Name?" 

The incoming extra-plush treatment of Joe Biden by the “independent fact checkers” might be signaled by this Friday fact check at Snopes.com: "Will Biden’s Dog Get an ‘Indoguration’ Party? Major Biden’s former shelter is celebrating the "first dog" with a virtual party." Fact check: True! 

On Tuesday, the “fact checkers” at Snopes ardently defended Gov. Andrew Cuomo by attacking an accurate tweet as "Mostly False." The headline was: "Did Gov. Cuomo Say It Was ‘Bad News’ Pfizer Vaccine Progress Came Under Trump?" The correct answer is Yes.

Twitter Moments is as biased in curating the campaign as the “independent fact checkers.” It would figure that the Democratic convention would cause them all to fact check…..the Republicans, not the Democrats. Promoted at the top of the Moments this morning was this gem: "The DNC did not remove the phrase 'under God' from the Pledge of Allegiance, Snopes and PolitiFact confirm."

Big Tech has allowed open season on President Donald Trump for years, but cracks down quickly on criticism of the Democratic presidential ticket. Conservative media analyst and author Mark Dice announced that “Facebook censored a viral meme I posted last week about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris” in a Facebook post yesterday.

Snopes.com felt compelled to fact check the question "Did a 'convicted terrorist' sit on the board of a BLM funding body?" The answer is yes, Susan Rosenberg, convicted of being caught with 740 pounds of explosives and an Uzi, is on the board of a Black Lives Matter funder. But Snopes says the word "terrorist" is not well-defined.

President Trump never called the coronavirus a "hoax." He said trying to turn the coronavirus into the latest version of That Thing That Ruins Trump was a "hoax," like Russian collusion or Ukrainian election interference. But for some reason, Snopes.com admitted he never said the virus was a hoax, but rated his comments a "Mixture" of true and false. That's just sloppy.

This week, the "fact checkers" at both The Washington Post and Snopes.com have thrown the penalty flag at Joe Biden for his repeated claim that he was imprisoned in South Africa in the 1970s while trying to visit Nelson Mandela at the Robben Island prison. Sadly, the networks didn't seem to notice this historical gaffe before the South Carolina debate.
