Well, Drew Brees has apologized for having his own opinions. It was to be expected. But at least one prominent African-American sports figure doesn’t want the Saints QB cast into the outer darkness.

Over the past week, George Floyd’s violent and tragic death has been well documented. Additionally, the tragic turmoil at the hands of violent rioters has also been at the forefront of the news.

Amid the sports media reports on LeBron James and other athletes expressing outrage over the killing of George Floyd, the New York Daily News, Deadspin and the New Jersey Advocate featured excuses for the violent rioting. Sarah Valenzuela's story in the New York Daily News focused on former NFL player Colin Kaepernick (at right in photo) blatantly defending the riots and the arson:
