Sports media reports today are gloating that increases in NFL revenues dispel claims that national anthem protests are hurting the league's bottom line. Some of them are not telling the full story either. Forbes' contributing writer Marc Edelman, Professor of Law at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, cites:

The Cardinals' website featured a story Monday about owner Michael Bidwill supporting his former high school football teammate Brett Kavanaugh for the nation's high court.

The NFL's new anthem policy is an ill-conceived move that plays right into the hands of a president who demonizes the league to rile up his supporters, writes Sports Illustrated's Trump-hating, flag-hating Charles Pierce. Furthermore, Pierce compares the anthem policy and Trump remarks on the NFL to 20th century British tyranny.

A University of Texas poll shows the NFL losing a crucial base of support in football-crazy Texas, but the protest-supporting media has so far shown no interest in covering the story. Nearly half the state’s registered voters view the NFL unfavorably, according to a poll conducted by the University of Texas/Texas Tribune, "a nonprofit, nonpartisan news organization."
