The left-wing Women’s March organization is going through a major leadership shift, adding seventeen new liberal board members while severing ties with a few prior leaders.
The New York Post reported on Sept. 16, that left-wing activist Linda Sarsour and co-chairs Tamika Mallory and Mari Lynn “Bob” Bland were leaving leadership roles with the Women’s March. All three were criticized for connections to and support of known anti-Semite and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan who has called Jews “Satanic.”
Women’s March leaders insisted the reason for the change was that Sarsour, Mallory, and Bland “served out their terms and are moving on to new ventures.” However, their departure didn’t mean the Women’s March no longer had leaders with anti-Semitic views. It also didn’t end the group’s association with liberal donor George Soros.
Three of the new board members work as high-level staff for organizations funded by liberal mega-donor George Soros or his son Alexander Soros — Ginna Green, Kelley Robinson and Zahra Billoo.
Green is chief strategy officer for Bend the Arc: Jewish Action which was founded by Alexander Soros. Soros is also chairman of the board of directors. His father, billionaire left-wing benefactor, George Soros has donated at least $1,025,000 to Bend the Arc.
According to her bio, Green previously worked as managing director of the Democracy Collaborative at ReThink Media, which was also funded by George Soros through his National Security and Human Rights Campaign. Before that she worked for the Center for Responsible Lending (funded by Soros’ Open Society Institute) and left-wing news site Alternet (also funded by Soros).
Robinson is the executive director of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Between 2000-2014, Soros donated more than $21 million to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates.
Billoo is the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations San-Francisco Bay office (CAIR-SFBA). In 2017, Soros’ Open Society Foundations gave $140,000 to CAIR’s California branch (CAIR-SFBA is part of it) as part of its Communities Against Hate campaign.
Forward Magazine decried Billoo’s involvement on Sept. 17, writing “The Women’s March Finally Dumped Linda Sarsour - And Replaced Her With Someone Worse.” They cited a number of brazenly anti-Semitic tweets from Billoo including a 2015 tweet that “DHS and FBI should launch CVE programs targeting Israel supporters because Zionism is a very real threat to our national security.”
On June 22, 2012, she tweeted, “Apartheid Israel kills children as a hobby.” She even accused the FBI in 2015 of recruiting for ISIS, according to National Review.
Although the Women’s March was not directly funded by Soros, many of its partners were recipients of funding over the years. Between 2000-2014, Soros gave “nearly a quarter of a billion dollars to 100 groups” who have partnered with the Women’s March, according to a 2017 Special Report from Media Research Center Business.
