Univision has plumbed a new low when it comes to the types of news “stories” it prefers to showcase in lieu of reporting on Hunter Biden’s scandals. In this case, a Mexican doctor’s Barbie collection.
When we say that Spanish-language newscasts exist not to inform but to stupefy their viewers, this is exactly what we mean:
CAROLINA SARASSA: Your profession is to be a surgeon. So how do you combine the hobby of collecting Barbies and being a surgeon?
DR. PAUL JUAREZ: One way in which I keep the entire collection moving is- this... that every day a different Barbie accompanies me to the clinic...
BORJA VOCES: Great!
JUAREZ: …the one that has to go to the clinic. Let's just say it's her spa day, shall we? Either shake the box if it's in a box; If it's loose like her, we check the dress for dust. If the dress (has dust), you change it, you wash it... We refresh her hair.
Univision dedicated three minutes to this tripe- which is three minutes not spent breaking down Hunter Biden’s payment schemes, Devon Archer’s testimony, or that of the IRS whistleblowers. To add insult to injury, Univision chooses to mask its intentional omission of the Biden family misdeeds with the deliberate attempt to erode traditional norms of masculinity within the Hispanic community. Recall the time that Univision promoted a man with a skirt.
And so we’ve gone from media bias by commission and omission, to bias by flooding the zone with complete nonsense.
Univision’s viewers continue to cry out for an alternative.

CAROLINA SARASSA: And we're still live with all of you, friends of Edición Digital. A Mexican plastic surgeon has a very special and different patient every time he goes to the clinic. She's not flesh and blood, Borja, she's a Barbie.
BORJA VOCES: Wow.
SARASSA: And it is that this doctor from Puebla (Mexico), named Paul Sebastián Juárez, has a (Barbie library), a place that he calls his happy place.
VOCES: Doctor Juárez, thank you very much for being with us here at Edición Digital, and for giving us access to what I imagine is one of the most special rooms you have in your home- which is your Barbie collection. Tell me, please, how a person begins to collect Barbies and comes to have that many dolls.
DR. PAUL SEBASTIAN JUAREZ: Hello, how are you? Well- I've been collecting Barbies for 20 years. Since I was little I always wanted one and I could never have one because it was another time- the world had another mindset. Then one day I got sick with cholera, I was about to die, and one of the things that crossed my mind as regret as I was dying was that I never had a Barbie, and I always wanted one. So, well, I went out and recovered from that, and on Christmas of that year my first Barbie arrived.

VOCES: Now… many (questions) come to mind, first of all: how many Barbies do you have in total? What is your favorite Barbie, and what is the most you have paid for one of those collectible Barbies?
JUAREZ: Oh, OK. First, I currently have 210 Barbies. I have my favorite, because it is my first Barbie. Pink Collection Number One. And the most expensive piece, the one that has cost me the most money, is the Karl Lagerfeld Barbie - (he is) the designer at Chanel.
VOCES: Um, correct.
JUAREZ: …with the black glasses here.
VOCES: Ooh, look how pretty, yeah.
SARASSA: Oh, cool, check this out. We love this. Dr. Juárez, it's great that you connected with Edición Digital, and thank you very much.
JUAREZ: A pleasure. Thank you so much.
VOCES: What a marvelous collection. The truth is that it has had to have cost him a lot, and also of course cleaning them, and taking care of them as he says he does, right?
SARASSA: Also, especially that it was something that made his dream come true - getting his first Barbie. So how nice.
