As they’ve done so often with The New York Times and New York Daily News, the liberal media faithfully bowed in awe of another left-wing front-page editorial as Thursday’s Boston Globe demanded gun control in the aftermath of the Orlando terror attack.
Both CBS This Morning and NBC’s Today graciously displayed the cover at the top of their programs while fawning over the Senate Democrats filibuster instructing Republicans capitulate to them to do something and everything on gun control.
CBS This Morning co-host Charlie Rose proclaimed that “[p]ressure’s growing on Congress to act against gun violence after America's deadliest mass shooting” as “[p]age one of this morning's Boston Globe demands ‘Make it Stop.’”
“The image is an AR-15 rifle similar to the weapon used in many mass shootings. That demand for action is shared by many after a gunman killed 49 people in an Orlando nightclub,” Rose added before co-host Norah O’Donnell trumpeted Democrats as “show[ing] their anger” including “ringleader, Senator Chris Murphy” who “used to represent the district where 20 children were murdered at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.”
NBC’s Today followed in lock-step as it too highlighted the Globe cover’s full-page picture of an AR-15 with national correspondent Peter Alexander telling viewers to “check out the front page of The Boston Globe”:
Senate Democrats say they have had enough, essentially commandeering the Senate floor for hours, lasting into the early hours of this morning, to drive home their call for stricter gun laws. And new today, check out the front page of The Boston Globe, this editorial, a giant picture of a rifle along with three words, "Make it Stop."
This pattern of the networks partnering with newspapers to promote liberal causes has become all too frequent in the past year as the “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC gushed over the “historic” move by The New York Times to publish a front-page editorial in its December 5, 2015 paper days after the San Bernardino terror attack.
A even-more loyal customer of the networks has been the far-left and venomous New York Daily News as their anti-Christian, anti-NRA, and anti-Trump covers were hailed as “very powerful” and even parroted on network newscasts dating back to December 2015 after San Bernardino (here and here) to Ted Cruz to claiming the GOP was dead in May.
