We’ve got a brand new, fun interactive series for the new year called Worst Media Take of the Week, where you — our loyal NewsBusters visitors and MRC supporters — get to vote on which leftist journalist or celebrity had the worst media take of the week.
Much appreciation to all who voted last week via NewsBusters and the MRC’s various social media sites (Facebook, Instagram and X.com).
The results of the Worst Media Take of the Week are in and the winner is…
Sunny Hostin!
The co-host of ABC’s The View ran away from the field with 61 percent of the vote. The battle for second place was a close race with Hostin’s The View colleague Joy Behar garnering 20 percent of the vote. HBO’s John Oliver was right on Hostin’s heels with 19 percent.
Hostin won first place for prodding Democrats to fight President Donald Trump harder or else “people will die!”
The following is a montage of last week’s nominees:

WINNER (61 percent of the vote)
Hostin: Democrats Must Fight Trump Or “People Will Die!”
“Representative [Al] Green [yelling at Trump during his address to Congress] gave them the example. The Democrats are not meeting the moment. It is very clear that Medicaid is on the table. It is very clear that Social Security is on the table. It is very clear that people will die! The baby boomers, the civil rights generation, they knew what they had to do! They were willing to fight and die for their rights! This generation of Congress, they are not meeting the moment! This is an existential crisis!”
— Co-host Sunny Hostin on ABC’s The View, March 7.
SECOND PLACE (20 percent of the vote)
Joy Willing to Be “Friends” With a Trump Voter, Just Won’t Save Their Life
“I could be friends with a Trump supporter. I won’t give them a kidney but I could be friends with them.”
— Co-host Joy Behar on ABC’s The View, March 6.
THIRD PLACE (19 percent of the vote)
Awful Oliver: Best Thing About Reagan Is He’s “Dead”
“She [Rep. Elissa Slotkin in Democratic response to Trump address] criticized Trump by praising Reagan. I will admit there are positive things you can say about Reagan, like ‘He was our only president to make a movie with a chimp,’ or ‘he’s dead,’ but his moral clarity might come as a surprise to any gay people who lived through the 1980s. I’m just saying, if you brought Reagan back from the dead and told him all the racist shit Trump’s managed to do in less than two months, he’d cum so hard he’d die again.”
— Host John Oliver on HBO’s Last Week Tonight, March 9.
Thanks again to all who participated!
