Following last night’s CNBC Republican presidential debate, View co-host Whoopi Goldberg defended the network from criticism and told the GOPers on stage to “grow some nuts” rather than complain about a lack of substantive questions.
After Goldberg initially asked “who answered one substantive question” last night before she lectured the Republicans who complained about the biased moderators: “So grow some nuts. If you're going to be the president, you're going to have to answer these questions at some point. I don't understand.”
Co-host Michelle Collins defended the CNBC hosts and gave “quick props to the CNBC moderators because I have to tell you they were so entertaining last night? I felt like I was watching a housewives reunion. They were Andy Cohen. They were going in on those people...They were great.”
While Paula Faris explained that it was difficult to answer a substantive question when you are given only 60 seconds and “you keep getting interrupted” Goldberg continued to criticize the GOP candidates: “Yes, but you have your time. Get your act together. You know this is how much time you have. You got to get your behind in gear.”

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Here's my question, who answered one substantive question? Did anybody answer one substantive question?
JOY BEHAR: I would say that their complaint would be that they were not asked substantive questions. That’s their complaint.
GOLDBERG: I thought that was the complaint with Fox also.
BEHAR: Yes that is their complaint.
GOLDBERG: So grow some nuts. If you're going to be the president, you're going to have to answer these questions at some point. I don't understand.
BEHAR: Or ask your own question.
RAVEN-SYMONE: Ted Cruz did bring up the fact that his tax plan was rolled out on his website. So instead of talking about it, he said just go to his website.
MICHELLE COLLINS: Everybody kept pushing to their website. Jeb was like you can see it on Jeb 2016. I’m like is this an info commercial? Can I also give quick props to the CNBC moderators because I have to tell you they were so entertaining last night? I felt like I was watching a housewives reunion. They were Andy Cohen. They were going in on those people.
BEHAR: They were criticized for that.
COLLINS: They were great.
PAULA FARIS: It's hard to give substance when you're really are only given 60 seconds to respond and you keep getting interrupted.
GOLDBERG: The Democrats seemed to have been able to dit it.
FARIS: Because there’s five of them.
GOLDBERG: Yes, but you have your time. Get your act together. You know this is how much time you have. You got to get your behind in gear.
