Continuing on what appears to be the beginning of a trend in the liberal media, on Tuesday, CNN Tonight fretted openly about the serious liability that President Joe Biden's age poses after he announced his candidacy for reelection in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections. Of course, this concern doesn't come from their duty as members of the media to hold those in power accountable, it instead is their worry that Biden's age makes him vulnerable to defeat next year.
After interviewing pollster Frank Luntz on his findings which show even Democrat voters don't want Biden to run again (despite them supporting his agenda), host Alisyn Camerota turned to one of her panelists and pseudo-comedian Hari Kondabolu and asked: "What are Democrats to do about the age issue that they keep bumping up against with Joe Biden?"
"There is nothing to do unless they find another candidate," Kondabolu openly panicked to Camerota.
"The one thing that gives me hope is that, like, Obama wasn’t the establishment candidate when he ran the first time around. Everybody was aiming towards Hillary Clinton. And then he was this young charismatic leader that put himself in this position," he continued.
Camerota was then forced to jump in and dash any hope he had remaining by reminding him that "there was no incumbent" when Obama ran for the first time in 2008.
"That is also true," Kondabolu conceded. "Look, they are not in a good spot. To me, my frustration is they had years to develop younger, more viable candidates. And they didn’t," he bemoaned.
"The establishment does not want to change. Like with Obama, that wasn't their guy," Kondabolu wailed. "And he kind of was this transcendent figure. And we have these figures in the Democratic left, whether it's AOC or all these justice Democrats, you might think maybe they're not electable, but there isn't even an attempt to cultivate them at a higher level. The fact that they won their seats to begin with means they defied the odds."
Youth doesn't always mean electability, and nominating more radical candidates isn't the solution to winning elections for Democrats, despite what Kondabolu appears to suggest. Obama was an anomaly.

HARI KONDABOLU: I, mean there is nothing to do unless they find another candidate. I mean the one thing that gives me hope is that, like, Obama wasn’t the establishment candidate when he ran the first time around. Everybody was aiming towards Hillary Clinton. And then he was this young charismatic leader that put himself in this position.
CAMEROTA: But there was no incumbent.
KONDABOLU: That is also true. Look, they are not in a good spot. To me, my frustration is they had years to develop younger, more viable candidates. And they didn’t. And part of that is like what I was saying like it's—the establishment does not want to change. Like with Obama, that wasn't their guy. And he kind of was this transcendent figure. And we have these figures in the Democratic left, whether it's AOC or all these justice Democrats, you might think maybe they're not electable, but there isn't even an attempt to cultivate them at a higher level. The fact that they won their seats to begin with means they defied the odds. So, isn't that worth investing in?
