Appearing on Newsmax’s Spicer & Co. Monday evening, Media Research Center President Brent Bozell hammered CNN for absurdly whining about President Biden not getting enough favorable media coverage. Bozell went on to observe that if the leftist press were actually “doing their job,” then “the whole country would know what a disaster this administration has been thus far.”
“CNN’s Brian Stelter spent part of his Sunday show whining about conservative memes criticizing President Biden....then he decided...to bring in a – what he called a diverse panel of self-proclaimed Biden cheerleaders to discuss why none of the crises that Biden faces are actually his fault,” host Sean Spicer noted at the top of the segment, before playing a clip of the unhinged discussion from Reliable Sources.
Reacting to the clip, Bozell warned that Stelter better be careful what he wished for:
...what Brian Stelter was doing, and he said this, but in black and white, he said the problem with the media is that they’re selling feelings and not the agenda. And that we’re all reacting to feelings and not the policies of Joe Biden and the record of Joe Biden. Well, Democrats and people like Brian Stelter ought to be very happy if we’re talking about feelings and not talking about what this administration is doing.
After listing the myriad of Biden failures on multiple fronts, Bozell concluded: “It is true, they should be talking about feelings and not talking about facts because if they were talking about facts and doing their job, the whole country would know what a disaster this administration has been thus far.”
Co-host Lyndsay Keith remarked: “I feel like we have turned a new page here where people aren’t, you know, trying to hide it anymore. It’s brazen, it’s out there that they have this bias....Am I right in the sense of, we are in a new space with people just not even being afraid to say that they’re biased?”
Bozell agreed:
You know, I think we entered that space in the Trump administration. I think, frankly, he lanced the boil. Remember, he went on the offensive against them before they went on the offensive against him....Look, they savaged him for four years on – by the politics of commission, savaging him personally, but the politics of omission, not reporting any of his successes. They went some months when they would go 95%, 97%. There was one month, 100% negative news on Donald Trump.
He then called out the blatant media double standard with Biden now in office: “Well now the roles are completely reversed. Joe Biden is as much a disaster as Donald Trump was a success, and they’re still now in the politics of omission. Now they’re not reporting the disasters of Joe Biden.”
Moments later, Bozell further blasted the Biden White House:
These people will say this with a straight face, looking right into the camera, boldly lying. Boldly lied about Trump’s economic policy, saying it had been a disaster and saying he [Biden] was going to turn it around. Well, he did turn around . He turned around a successful economy into a disaster....he’s a mess.
Wrapping up the segment, Spicer touted Bozell’s new memoir:

SEAN SPICER: Alright, CNN’s Brian Stelter spent part of his Sunday show whining about conservative memes criticizing President Biden. And then he thought that you know this – then he decided, well, I’m going to bring in a – what he called a diverse panel of self-proclaimed Biden cheerleaders to discuss why none of the crises that Biden faces are actually his fault. Take a listen to this.
BRIAN STELTER: My suburban grocery stores never had empty shelves like that. But the messaging here saying that Biden is to blame for anything bad about the economy, it is clearly sticking to some degree. I think this is a fascinating subject, and so do my first three guests, who all come at it from different angles.
MAGDI SEMRAU [THE EDITORIAL BOARD]: I am a cheerleader for Biden. I will – well for Democrats generally and their agenda, I’ll fully admit to that. Um, but I really want to point out that the problem that I have is not that the media isn’t selling Biden’s agenda, it’s that they’re not telling the American public about it.
SPICER: Well, here to react and bring some insight is the President of the Media Research Center, Brent Bozell. Brent, good to see you. It’s amazing, Brian Stelter brings this group from what he calls a diverse group of people, journalists from different backgrounds. Except they’re all on team Biden. They – literally one of them, you heard there, even admits to being a cheerleader.
BRENT BOZELL: Yeah, their idea of diversity is that they’re sitting in different rooms. It’s the same thing. This is CNN. They – you know, if a conservative comes on CNN that conservative gets fired within about a week, just ask Rick Santorum, and a host of other people, what happens when you espouse your conservatism? Look, on that show, Brian – what Brian Stelter was doing, and he said this, but in black and white, he said the problem with the media is that they’re selling feelings and not the agenda. And that we’re all reacting to feelings and not the policies of Joe Biden and the record of Joe Biden. Well, Democrats and people like Brian Stelter ought to be very happy if we’re talking about feelings and not talking about what this administration is doing.
Because what – if they were talking about what this administration was doing, they’d be talking about the pandemic and how Joe Biden, in the campaign, said he would end the COVID crisis problem. How Joe Biden said that someone like Donald Trump, who had 220 million people – 220,000 people die on his watch, ought not to be president. And yet, we’re up to 350,000 with Joe Biden. That this is a president who said that the economy is in very good shape while inflation is at a 30-year high, gas prices have doubled, you’ve got empty shelves with goods stacked offshore. You’ve got crime out of control, both from the standpoint of theft and murder and violence. You’ve got foreign policy disasters, one after another. You’ve got the disgraceful exit from Afghanistan.

LYNDSAY KEITH: Brent you’ve been looking at the bias in the media for a long time. I feel like we have turned a new page here where people aren’t, you know, trying to hide it anymore. SPICER: You know when you say that, though, it’s funny because there – there was a piece in The Washington Post by Dan Balz, right, that pointed out that when Biden took office, he had three big goals, right. He was to going to get the coronavirus under control. He was going to deal with the effects of the economy. And then and then he was going to unify the country. Ten months in Brent, none of that has happened and the media has kept telling us how concerned they are about, you know, the effects of this. It’s Biden’s own yardstick, if you will, that he’s being measured against. Not mine, not yours.
BOZELL: Sean, couldn’t – I think we should – should be, if we’re looking again at facts, we have to conclude that it’s been the opposite of what Joe Biden promised. Joe Biden again said on the campaign trail, arrogantly, that he was going to end the coronavirus, end the pandemic. You know, it’s the same thing, Sean, as saying that a $3.5 trillion bill doesn’t cost any money. These people will say this with a straight face, looking right into the camera, boldly lying. Boldly lied about Trump’s economic policy, saying it had been a disaster and saying he was going to turn it around. Well, he did turn around . He turned around a successful economy into a disaster.
And by the way, this is somebody who is now saying he doesn’t see an end in sight on things such as soaring gas prices. Now he’s saying he’s not going to do any kind of a mandate. Now he’s reversing himself and is acknowledging he’s a mess.
SPICER: Wow, put that succinctly. Brent, by the way, we talked about a minute ago about, uh, you know, Cyber Monday and everything.
