Cozy: Obama Spinner Buys Swanky Penthouse Condo From WashPost Editor

Apparently, it’s lucrative work to be “entrusted to safeguard the president’s image and legacy.” The Washington Post “Reliable Source” gossips Monday reported that White House spinner Dan Pfeiffer has bought an almost-million-dollar penthouse condo.

Of course, in another cozy exchange between liberal elites, Pfieffer is buying the swanky condo from a senior correspondent and associate editor at the Post:

City records show Pfeiffer closed this month on a penthouse condo in historic Logan Circle. Two bedrooms, fireplace, soaring ceilings, stunning views, according to the listing. (Small world: Records show he bought it from our Washington Post colleague Rajiv Chandrasekaran.) At 1,400 square feet, it might sound like a minor downsizing from his three-bedroom Shaw row house of eight years, which he just sold for $833K — but it’s a major upgrade when you count the sprawling roof deck at his new pad.

You can't expect to see White House communications staffers sleeping in tents with the Occupiers, can you? Four days ago, the Post alluded to the new purchase in a mostly chummy profile by Jason Horowitz, with a detour describing his "Amateur Hour" debut on four Sunday shows:

Many of the reporters who have received mocking 4 a.m. nastygrams and abrasive phone calls from Pfeiffer over the years relished his May debut on all five Sunday morning talk shows. It was not a command performance. His clenched jaw and clumsy construction that “the law is irrelevant” in the IRS scandal is now featured in a reelection ad for the administration’s arch nemesis, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)....

Pfeiffer met friends that afternoon for brunch at Commissary in the Logan Circle area, where he is moving.
