President Biden's visit to the border in El Paso was greeted by liberal media operatives in two noticeable ways. Either they sympathized with Biden's work on this "complex" issue, or -- like NPR Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep -- they asked Team Biden "why" they would tell people not to come to America and cross the border illegally?
The actual question Inskeep asked Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Friday was "Both parts of this policy that I just mentioned seemed aimed at the same one goal, telling people not to come and cross the border illegally. Why is that your bottom line?"
MRC Latino Director Jorge Bonilla offers his expertise on these matters, beginning with the important point that Spanish-language networks depend on the consistent arrival of new immigrants who don't speak English to keep their business model humming.
Jorge finds it amazing that other networks like NPR have joined in this extreme open-borders advocacy, campaigning against any restraint of the historic surge across the border. With Biden's latest request to migrants not to cross the border, the media are questioning the president from the Left, wondering if he isn't moving "to the center" on immigration.
