The fact-checkers at Snopes.com haven't done a single fact check on President Biden's statements since the Taliban took over Afghanistan. But they did do a fact check on October 18 attacking President Trump for being soft on the Taliban. A meme by the leftists at Occupy Democrats was ruled "Mostly True."

As the situation in Afghanistan becomes only more grim, the New York Times is properly condemning the Biden Administration’s lack of foresight and criticizing Biden’s false statements regarding the US evacuation. Saturday’s front page featured a “news analysis” from Peter Baker, which suggested Biden’s botching of the Afghanistan pullout might damage his electoral selling points. …

It was obvious to any sentient observer in 2020. In defending himself on Afghanistan, Joe Biden fumbled his words, made weird comments and generally didn't seem up to the job of being president. And the media pretended there was nothing to see. Even the liberal Los Angeles Times sees something horribly wrong in what the Biden administration claims to be their No. 1 priority.

On Tuesday, "AP Fact Check" leaped to the defense of CNN reporter Clarissa Ward when Washington Times columnist Tim Young mocked her on Twitter for saying the Taliban seemed friendly. On Wednesday, AP ruined their own "fact check" by reporting the "friendly" Taliban nearly pistol-whipped one of Ward's producers in Kabul.

MSNBC military analyst, Ret. Gen. Barry McCaffrey obliterated the admittedly fine line between being realistic and being defeatist on Friday's Stephanie Ruhle Reports where he asserted there is "nothing" we can do for those who fought beside us for 20 years.

The very supportive media environment around President Biden has turned suddenly sour over this administration’s shoddy handling of Afghanistan. This debacle shouldn’t be buried and ignored by the press, like they’ve tried to do with the border crisis. But Biden’s gone back to hiding as a strategy, as he did in the 2020 campaign.
