Talk about seeing a silver lining in a market downturn. Grist columnist Eric Holthaus, a meteorologist and "ecosocialist," wants readers to know that a massive U.S. economic recession might be good news. Not for people but for Mother Earth.

On Thursday and Friday, CNN has been closing out the year 2018 fearmongering about global warming as CNN meterologist Chad Myers linked "manmade climate change" to extreme weather events from the year, and CNN medical reporter Sanjay Gupta warned of "premature death of thousands of Americans" to come in the future from climate change.

Appearing on Saturday's CNN Newsroom and again on New Day Sunday to discuss the international summit on global warming, CNN correspondent Nick Paton Walsh repeatedly fearmongered about the possibility of "catastrophe" in a decade if "drastic" changes are not taken to combat global warming.

On Friday afternoon, as Ali Velshi covered the release of a government report predicting "dire" results of global warming, the MSNBC Live host fretted over the Trump administration burying its release on a Black Friday. He further suggested that being a global warming skeptic is similar to being "on the wrong side of a cancer discussion." Or a "why you should get your teeth cleaned discussion."

On Monday afternoon, MSNBC host Katy Tur gave a commentary in which she fretted that her life may be "pointless" because news anchors like her do not cover "climate change" every day as she also predicted wildfires and storms will keep getting worse because of human activity.
