On the August 7 edition of PBS’s Charlie Rose show the author who penned The Atlantic article “How America Lost Its Mind” (that trashed Trump, Rush Limbaugh and the conservative movement) told Rose the reasons, in his view, the country had lost its mind. One of them was religion. 

Who better than an ex-Hillary Clinton adviser who worked on the Iran deal to weigh in on the escalating conflict with North Korea? That’s who Charlie Rose turned to on Wednesday’s CBS This Morning. The co-hosts did not press Jake Sullivan on problems or scandals involving the Obama administration’s Iran negotiations. 

You know it’s a bad sign when the comedy host is a tougher “journalist” than the actual reporters. But that’s what played out as The Daily Show and CBS This Morning both featured interviews with Al Gore. The ex-Vice President is promoting his new climate change sequel and endured this softball from CBS’s Charlie Rose: “So, tell me, in ten years, what has changed that alarms you?” 

On Wednesday, the network morning shows were all deeply troubled by a New York Times report that the Trump Justice Department was preparing to defend the civil rights of white students applying to college. At the top of ABC’s Good Morning America, co-host George Stephanopoulos sounded the alarm: “Breaking overnight, new reports the Trump administration is taking on Affirmative Action, preparing…

CBS hosts Stephen Colbert and Charlie Rose are disgusted with the “moral heresy” delivered by Donald Trump when he spoke to the Boy Scouts on Monday. Rose appeared on Tuesday’s Late Show and the first thing he wanted to talk about was the speech: “Boy, that interview with the Boy Scouts keeps on giving, doesn't it?” 

“Too cozy,” “controversy,” “striking,” “crisis,” “startling,” those were just some of the hyperbolic terms thrown around on Wednesday’s network morning shows as hosts and correspondents panicked over news that President Trump had a casual after-dinner conversation with Vladimir Putin surrounded by dozens of other world leaders at the G20 Summit earlier this month.

With a Democratic Party dominated by the 69-year-old Hillary Clinton and the 68-year-old Elizabeth Warren, the journalists at CBS This Morning are apparently desperate to find a young, dynamic leader for the liberal cause. Apparently, they’ve found him. Not a senator or a governor, but the mayor of South Bend Indiana. 

The journalists at CBS This Morning on Monday conducted a fawning interview with environmental activist Bill Nye. Rather than offer any hard questions, Charlie Rose offered softballs such as asking, “Are other countries more curious about science than we are?” 

The snide journalists at CBS on Tuesday seem to wonder why Republicans are intentionally hurting the gullible voters who support them. The hosts of CBS This Morning talked to Shannon Pettypiece of Bloomberg about the Senate GOP’s plan to repeal ObamaCare. At one point, co-host Charlie Rose blundered, “How do [Republicans] justify the fact that it will hurt the people that supported them most…

Are the long, liberal knives of journalists out for Nancy Pelosi? The Democratic Minority Leader on Monday appeared on CBS This Morning and endured repeated questions about whether she is up to the job of facing down Donald Trump and the Republicans. After playing a montage of anti-Pelosi Democrats, Charlie Rose reminded, “You've been losing special elections, four of them." 

Washington Post journalist Ed O’Keefe on Wednesday attempted to spin away yet another loss for Democrats in a congressional election. Appearing on CBS This Morning, he even insisted that the GOP going four-for-four in congressional races is a potentially bad “sign” for 2018. Talk about fake news. 

 After a Bernie Sanders-supporting, Republican-hating gunman attempted to slaughter GOP Congressmen, CBS This Morning host Charlie Rose on Thursday wondered if it was Donald Trump who needed to show "civility." Talking to Republican Congressman Gary Palmer about violence at a baseball practice, Rose suggested, “Do we begin with leadership from the White House in terms of trying to cool down…

It seems that, finally, liberal journalists are challenging the credulous, dictator-coddling filmmaking of lefty Oliver Stone. But maybe that’s because the communist-friendly director avoided tough questions when talking to Vladimir Putin. Appearing on CBS This Morning, Stone fawned over the Russian strong man, praising, “He believes in talk. He believes in peaceful co-existence.” 

On Monday, the network morning shows breathlessly hailed the latest partisan Democratic effort to attack President Trump, resurrecting a lawsuit accusing Trump of violating a clause in the Constitution because of his business interests. Such charges were hyped by the same media that excused the Clinton Foundation scandal that swirled around Hillary Clinton.
