On Tuesday's New Day show, as John Avlon recited a piece on the history of Presidents facing opponents within their own party, the CNN political analyst took a gratuitous cheap shot at Pat Buchanan's 1992 Republican convention speech by vaguely likening him to Adolf Hitler. The crack had nothing to do with the overall point of the segment.

On Thursday's New Day show, during a panel discussion of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that is a victory for the Trump administration, CNN regulars fretted about the Supreme Court's willingness to hear the case more quickly than usual. CNN legal analyst Laura Coates even twice called the speed of the ruling "ridiculous."

On Friday's New Day, CNN's John Berman interviewed the NFL's Ryan Russell about his decision to announce that he is bisexual. The CNN host gushed over the decision and lamented that Russell is the only NFL member who is openly gay. Over the past several days, the networks have delivered the latest example of the dominant liberal media suddenly taking notice of a normal government activity done by the Donald Trump administration and treating it as outrageous even though there was no media scrutiny when the same activity was also done by the Barack Obama administration.

On CNN’s New Day Thursday morning, the network ended the 8am EST hour with a gooey segment hyping Kamala Harris as essentially the next [female] Barack Obama. Correspondent Kyung Lah went to a Harris 2020 rally and spoke only to minority families, touting how girls and families were “inspired” by the biracial Harris, running for President.
