Reacting to BuzzFeed irresponsibly publishing an unsubstantiated smear against President-elect Donald Trump, on Wednesday, Media Research Center president Brent Bozell released the following statement:

Donald Trump on Wednesday blasted CNN as "fake news" and hit the cable network for repeating and promoting unverified information out of BuzzFeed. During a press conference heavily dominated by BuzzFeed’s unverified claims about the President-elect, reporter Jim Acosta attempted to shout out a question: “Since you are attacking our news organization ---" 

Despite repeatedly calling it “unconfirmed” and “unsubstantiated,” the ABC, CBS and NBC morning news shows on Wednesday spent a combined 44 minutes promoting allegations the Russian government had information that they could use to blackmail President-elect Donald Trump. These allegations stemmed from a 35-page “report” published by BuzzFeed, which itself doubted the veracity of the information.
