Things got awkward on Wednesday’s Hardball amidst the liberal media-wide meltdown over Attorney General Bill Barr’s Senate testimony when, during an interview with Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), host Chris Matthews compared the use of executive privilege to losing one’s virginity. Just hours before Attorney General William Barr sat down to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, all three network morning shows used Democratic talking points to frame the upcoming hearing. Reporters hyped an “explosive” newly-revealed letter from Special Counsel Robert Mueller as a “bombshell” that would ensure a “grilling” of Barr.  

Even for MSNBC, Wednesday’s coverage of William Barr’s testimony to Congress was particularly unhinged. For a second time, Brian Williams and Nicolle Wallace interrupted to offer their spin. This time, Wallace quoted the word “shit” from testimony and then chided Senator Lindsey Graham for using the word “fuck.”
