White House press secretary Jen Psaki admitted to her old Obama administration colleague David Axelrod on his CNN podcast The Axe Files that the  staff tries to tell President Biden not to take questions from reporters. It's like he has to be caged to prevent his gaffe-prone mouth from going "off message." 

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released a devastating report on job growth in April. It completely destroyed the media hype about the jobs growth under President Joe Biden. Their glowing job predictions were off by at least 734,000 jobs. Perhaps as much as 1,734,000 jobs. 

Washington Post media reporter Paul Farhi wrote a piece on Wednesday that sounded congratulatory. It seems the Biden White House has established "message discipline" and prevented negative leaking from the staff. An anonymous White House reporter was summoned to call Biden’s White House “effectively a leakproof operation.” That made the headline inside the Style section.

On Tuesday, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow unabashedly conceded that after four years of a Republican president, "I'm getting cattier and pettier with each passing day." Washington Post columnist Karen Tumulty wrote a piece for Tuesday’s paper headlined “The return of White House press briefings.” It’s not like the briefings disappeared in 2020. But then you see the online headline: “Get ready for reality-grounded White House press briefings.” She insisted Kayleigh McEnany “set a new standard in shamelessness” at the podium. 

On Thursday’s Morning Edition, National Public Radio touted their Jen Psaki interview with the headline  “Biden's Incoming Press Secretary: Briefings Won't Be A Platform For Right-Wing Spin.” As usual, NPR thinks “right-wing spin” is the opposite of their reportage….which is “objective.” Not left-wing spin!

Despite multiple requests for comment on whether political correspondent Sara Murray donated to Arizona Democratic Senator Mark Kelly, CNN informed NewsBusters on Tuesday afternoon that both CNN and Murray unequivocally deny that she's made any political donations and are looking into the donation’s origins and this discrepancy. On Friday, Washington Post media reporter Paul Farhi explored the increasing snark in White House "pool reports," which are supposed to be dry, fairly objective descriptions of presidential movements, but with today's Trump-hating press corps, no one could possibly be restrained. The headline in the paper was "Waters are getting a bit nippy in White House pool."

Even now, Joe Biden is continuing his basement strategy with the press, which is downright comical considering the namby-pamby questions they ask when given the opportunity.
