Calling all sports bullies to back off, Arizona’s governor says they shouldn’t even think about pulling a “Georgia” and blackmailing his state over voting legislation reform. Critics of pending state legislation on election integrity are already starting a drumbeat to remove major sports events from Arizona, just as Major League Baseball did in removing the all-star game from Atlanta.

When the NFL decided not to punish players who kneeled during the pre-game national anthem, some fans reacted by refusing to attend games, buy league merchandise, or watch games on TV. It took several years for the NFL to win fans back and some -- like me -- broke the habit and never returned, in person, or on TV.

It must be Politicize Sports Monday. Because we are told today that they are “symbols of oppression that reinforce negative stereotypes.” That’s the discouraging word from an Axios report promoted by Mike Allen.

NAACP today stands for the National Association for the Advancement of Cancellation People. The Association’s President and CEO Derrick Johnson demanded that the NFL cancel its relationship with Fox – calling it a hateful, divisive and racist organization – rather than renewing broadcast rights with the network.

The New York Times is simultaneously applauding the left-wing politicization of sports and calling conservatives the aggressors in the "Culture Wars." But being a progressive "journalist" means never having to make sense. 

Exit President Trump, enter Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX). The Texas governor is now the new favorite political target of outspoken San Antonio Spurs Coach Greg Popovich and ESPN’s resident cuckoo Keith Olbermann. Both lefties attacked Abbott for lifting the state’s mask mandate on Tuesday.

Liberal journalists are so desperate in their attempts to exonerate Colin Kaepernick of anti-Americanism that one of them is now using the Jan. 6 Capitol riot to do just that.
