The news crews at Univision and CNN En Español allowed their Trump derangement to run wild while reporting on the former president’s possible indictment in Manhattan by Soros-funded District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
From hyperventilating, to barely stopping to catch their breaths; from picturing the former president´s mug shot to comparing him to former President of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernández, shown on camera in handcuffs during his extradition to the United States on drug-trafficking and firearms charges; the charade was delivered with an amazing consistency that was, at the very least, amusing, and at the most, dully predictable.
The following compilation resumes the lame, one-sided coverage granted to the subject by both networks during the week of March 20th; a week that began with overly excited anchors and correspondents drooling at the prospect of seeing the Bad Orange Man in an orange suit, and ended with these same purveyors of the news moping about nothing – NOTHING- happening to Trump:
ELYAGÉLICA GONZÁLEZ, UNIVISIÓN: Things are heating up for Donald Trump.
[…]
ALAN TACHER, UNIVISIÓN: Former president Donald Trump dismisses what seems to be an imminent indictment against him by a grand jury.
[…]
JUAN CARLOS LÓPEZ, CNNEE: This is only one of the prosecutions that Trump faces.
[…]
PEGGY CARRANZA, UNIVISIÓN: What we know to this point is that he might surrender voluntarily
…
Like anyone else, he’d have to be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken
[…]
LÓPEZ: If he appears, he’ll be taken somewhere where he’ll have his mugshots taken, be fingerprinted like any other defendant and that photo, that image will become public
[…]
MANUEL RETURETA, CRIMINAL LAWYER: Name, fingerprints and a photograph that we’ve always seen in a criminal matter, of the former president, with a number underneath which is the booking photo or mugshot
[…]
TRUMP: You´re going to
BLANCA ROSA VILCHES, UNIVISIÓN: Few, Colón included, think that Trump will be handcuffed as was the case with former president Hernández, when he was transferred to the airplane that brought him from Honduras to New York.
[…]
BORJA VOCES: The NYPD and federal agencies are already preparing security plans for the Manhattan courthouse and surrounding areas after former President Donald Trump encouraged all his supporters to protest
[…]
GONZÁLEZ: How will his followers react?
[…]
CARRANZA: Additionally, he encouraged his supporters to protest
[…]
ANDREA LEÓN, UNIVISIÓN: Donald Trump himself asked his supporters to protest were this potential arrest to happen.
[…]
LÓPEZ: The last time Donald Trump called upon his supporters to, as he said, retake democracy, well- we know what happened
[…]
GONZÁLEZ: First of all, Angel, what are the actual chances that the former president is arrested over this Stormy Daniels case?
…
Now, Counsel, let’s say that’s the case. Would this in any way affect his presidential aspirations?
[…]
JORGE RAMOS: Good evening. Donald Trump is still free and still not charged with anything.
…
This Sunday on Al Punto, we will of course follow the entire Donald Trump saga. Since Monday, we’ve been waiting for something to happen and say that they have for the first time arrested a former President of the United States and absolutely nothing happened.
Notice the possibilities casually presented as fact: “What we know to this point is that he might surrender voluntarily”; “Like anyone else, he’d have to be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken”; “Would this in any way affect his presidential aspirations?”; “How will his followers react?”
Also notice how even Nicolas Maduro hater Jorge Ramos seems aghast that Trump, a potential presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, hasn´t been jailed a la Venezuela. Crap. “Since Monday, we’ve been waiting for something to happen and say that they have for the first time arrested a former President of the United States and absolutely nothing happened.”
As the Trump saga, like Ramos calls the former president´s current legal predicaments, evolves, we can all expect more TDS coming our way. And we will share the lunacy with you.
