Appearing on FBN’s Varney and Co. on Thursday, MRC’s Tim Graham blasted ABC’s George Stephanopoulos for failing to disclose a $50,000 donation he made to the Clinton Foundation between 2013-2014 while repeatedly promoting the foundation's charitable work.
Speaking to host Stuart Varney, Graham argued that “this whole story is outrageous” especially “the idea that George Stephanopoulos put on author Peter Schweizer a few weeks and pounded away at him about how dare he try and suggest there was something wrong with the Clinton Foundation.”
Graham insisted that Stephanopoulos should have recused himself from interviewing Schweizer and “should have had the decency and the ethics to announce to the audience that he had donated tens of thousands of dollars to the foundation that he very much looked like he was defending.”
Given Stephanopoulos’ close ties to the Clintons, Graham insisted that “you cannot trust” him “to be a fair and impartial arbiter on the Clintons.” Graham went so far as to suggest that Stephanopoulos was “just as deeply unethical about the Clinton Foundation as they are.”
Varney seemed perplexed that ABC News has essentially given Stephanopoulos a pass over this obvious conflict of interest and Graham went one step further and pointed out that when it comes to the Clintons “there’s just this level of shamelessness” in their unwillingness to cover their scandals.
