Mika 'Angry' Stephanopoulos Invited Rodman On 'This Week'

Ping-pong diplomacy worked with China, so why not b-ball diplomacy with North Korea? Mika Brzezinski is clearly not buying that line of logic. On today's Morning Joe, Brzezinski confessed to being "angry" with George Stephanopoulos for having the extraterrestrial otherwise known as Dennis Rodman on This Week to discuss his recent trip to North Korea, which included meeting with its new leader, Kim Jong Un.

Mika didn't spare her fellow MJ panelists, calling them "idiots" when they persisted in discussing Rodman's trip and TW appearance.  View the video after the jump.

I don't see the harm in having had Rodman on.  Better him than another mind-numbing segment with a senator discussing the sequester. But credit Mika with consistency.  She does try to maintain standards on Morning Joe, famously having ripped up a story about Paris Hilton in the show's early days.  And nowadays, Brzezinski fights an often-losing battle to prevent the boys of the panel from flashing salacious tabloid stories.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: I'm a little angry about that --

JOE SCARBOROUGH: We need to share.  

BRZEZINSKI: No sharing.  I don't share.

SCARBOROUGH:  What are you angry about?

BRZEZINSKI: [Pause, sighs].  Ahhh, just --

NICOLLE WALLACE:  A loaded question.

BRZEZINSKI: Are you serious? Right now?

SCARBOROUGH: What particularly are you angry about when it comes to George Stephanopoulos having Dennis Rodman on "This Week"?

BRZEZINSKI: Umm, I think that you just said it right there. That coupling probably is not what you expect to see on a Sunday show, nor do you need to see. Nor do you need to give attention to someone who clearly brings nothing to the table.

WILLIE GEIST: It's not just George Stephanopoulos. The news stories are all treating this as though Dennis Rodman is like an actual person.

BRZEZINSKI: Hey, idiots, you're treating it like a story now. It's four minutes past the hour. Let's move on.
