Morning Joe Hypes Abortion Claims Against Walker, Buried Biden's 'Where's Jackie?' Gaffe

October 4th, 2022 3:15 PM

"Hypocrisy?" We got your hypocrisy right here, Morning Joe!

With control of the Senate at stake in next month's elections, Republicans have been bracing for the Democrat/liberal-media complex to drop an "October surprise" on one of the GOP candidates engaged in a tight race.

And, sure enough, the left-wing Daily Beast yesterday published an article alleging that Herschel Walker, the Republican candidate for Senate from Georgia, who has taken a strong pro-life stance, paid for a girlfriend's abortion 13 years ago.

Walker has emphatically denied the allegation, calling it a "flat-out lie."

On Tuesday, Morning Joe, doing its bit on behalf of the Democrat cause, devoted 15 minutes and 33 seconds to the story, including 10 minutes in the show's crucial opening hour. Suggestions of Walker's alleged "hypocrisy" were generously sprinkled into the panel's remarks.

So, let's turn to another story regarding a Republican. When Rep. Jackie Walorski died along with two of her aides in a car accident in August, Morning Joe prominently featured Pres. Biden's expression of condolences. Biden said that he and Dr. Jill were "shocked and saddened" by Walorski's death.

And Willie Geist mentioned that Walorski had made a very large "impact on Washington."

But Biden was obviously not "shocked" enough by Walorski's death, nor did it "impact" Biden sufficiently, for him to remember it less than two months later. At an event in late September, Biden called out, "Jackie, are you here? Where's Jackie?"

Biden's gaffe was so egregious that even MSM reporters in the White House briefing room grilled Biden spox Karine Jean-Pierre on it. KJP repeatedly clung to the nonsensical excuse that Walorski had been "top of mind" for Biden. Whatever that means. If Walorski had indeed been "top of mind" for Biden that day, how could he have possibly forgotten her death?

So, after featuring Biden's "shocked and saddened" condolences at the time of Walorski's death, how much time did Morning Joe ever devote to Biden's gaffe? None, of course.

Note: Joe Scarborough is hardly shy when it comes to running his mouth—particularly when it comes to ripping Republicans.

So why was Scarborough utterly silent during the segment on Herschel Walker's alleged "hypocrisy" on abortion. leaving it to Mika Brzezinski, Willie Geist, and guests to lead the charge?

Back when he was a supposedly conservative Republican congressman from Florida's Panhandle, Scarborough had a perfect pro-life voting record. In recent times, though, Scarborough has sounded more like a Planned Parenthood spokesman, as he has repeatedly bemoaned the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Could there be something in Scarborough's past that would expose him as a hypocrite regarding his erstwhile pro-life position?

WILLIE GEIST: Herschel Walker says he want to completely ban abortion, likening it to murder, and claiming there should be no exceptions for rape, incest, or even the life of the mother.

But the Daily Beast is reporting this morning that Walker urged a woman, who asked not to be identified because of privacy concerns, to have an abortion after she became pregnant with his child when they were dating in 2009. The woman said that she did have the procedure, and that Walker reimbursed her for it.

According to the Daily Beast, quote, she supported her claims with a $575 receipt from the abortion clinic, a get-well card from Walker, and a bank-depost receipt that included an image of a signed, $700 personal check from Walker.

. . .

ELENA SCHNEIDER: But the second, even more devastating blow, potentially, is what his father, excuse me, his son has said, Christian Walker. So, Christian Walker is a Tik Tok influencer, sort of a conservative Gen-Z influencer star, who has really become sort of very popular in social media. And who has, you know, been supportive of his father. Not so much, even, on his social media as conservative Georgia would like, but generally has been supportive. So, it's notable that he has come out and said that he now has not only told his father to not run, but has really, further, you know, bringing to light these accusations about his violence and his hypocrisy.

. . .
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: If the reports are true, it's the ultimate hypocrisy on the issue of abortion. To be against it in any scenario, but to find it convenient in your life. That's the ultimate hypocrisy. . . .

KATTY KAY: The stories have been out there, and not really aired. And the conservatives don't really care about those stories, particularly when it comes to any issue of any issue of hypocrisy around abortion.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: As you see, flags at the White House and the U.S. Capitol are flying at half-staff this morning, in memory of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski. The 58-year-old Indiana Republican was killed yesterday in a car accident in Elkhart County, Indiana, along with her two staffers, Zachary Potts, and Emma Thompson. The driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle also died.

Walorski served in Congress since 2013 and was the top Republican on the House ethics committee . . . President Biden also released a statement, reading in part, "Jill and I are shocked and saddened by the death of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski. We send our deepest condolence to her husband Dean, to the families of her staff members, and to the people of Indiana's 2nd district who lost a representative who was one of their own. Willie.

WILLIE GEIST: You know, Congresswoman Walorski's name may not be familiar to every one of our viewers, but the outpouring of shock, and grief, and love we saw yesterday, bipartisan, from both sides of the aisle, and for those two staffers, shows what an impact she had on Washington. Terribly sad news.
