While having the gall to whine about people’s “nastiness” towards them on social media, ABC’s The View celebrated the start of so-called “Pride Month” on Thursday by falsely claiming that conservatives wanted to turn America in Uganda and have laws that called for the “execution” of homosexuals. This was followed up by the insane accusation that “the only way” Republicans get into office was by “stealing” elections. Of course, the “conservative” on the panel was just an empty suit.
It didn’t take long for co-host Joy Behar to uncork her dangerous rhetoric and unfounded conspiracy theories against Republicans. Getting ZERO pushback, she asserted that the political right wanted to imprison gays like Russia and execute them like Uganda:
Let me point out that Uganda, for example. There are countries all over the world that are attacking gay people. This is the new scapegoat du jour right now. In Russia, you’re imprisoned if you’re gay. In Uganda, they just imposed a stringent law, life imprisonment or execution if you're considered to be homosexual. 64 countries, half of them are in Africa, criminalize homosexuality. The other half are all over the place. I mean, is that what we want our country to be, like Uganda? I mean come on! Or Russia?
Behar’s rhetoric was particularly dangerous since it came at a time when Christian school children in America had been murdered by a transgendered terrorist, a fact they denied back in March.
Something else worth noting: Behar pointed out that “half [of those laws] are in Africa.” One of those was Ghana, as the U.K.-based Guardian reported last summer. That’s the same country racist co-host Sunny Hostin claimed was better than America back in March.
Back on Thursday, faux-conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin might as well have not been there. She refused to push back on Behar’s lies and instead conflated marriage equality and the sexual exploitation of kids at drag shows. “And those on the right who are targeting the LGBTQ+ community are on the wrong side of history, the facts bear that out,” she proclaimed.
She went on to accuse Republicans of “trying to target the minority within the minority. Create fear and stoke it. It will not work.” “Yeah, but your party tends to steal elections!” Behar shouted at her at one point.
That bald-faced lie was echoed by Hostin. According to her, every Republican that was in office was only there because they stole an election. “They are attacking the LGBTQ+ community because they have no real platform, they have no real programs, and are they out of step with this country, the only way that they win is by stealing the election or doing things like this! That is the truth!” she shrieked.
Ignoring how the conservative concern was trans agenda sexually exploiting children at drag shows and getting them to sterilize themselves with transition surgeries, Hostin also shouted about how “Only 1.6 percent of American adults are now transgender or non-binary. 1.6 percent. Then why do you choose that group to attack?!”
She then quoted former Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson, another known racist, to claim Republicans were just preying on dumb white people:
And I go back to what LBJ said a long time ago. And I was trying to find it. He said, “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on and he’ll empty his pockets for you.” And that is what they are doing!
Nearing the end of the segment, moderator Whoopi Goldberg suggested Republican Governor Ron DeSantis was going to have Florida secede from the Union. “That guy down in Florida, he's made decisions to create some sort of new country that only he's in charge of,” she proclaimed.
The View’s dangerous rhetoric against Republicans was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Dunkin’ Donuts and Tylenol. Their contact information is linked.

JOY BEHAR: But to your question, I think they're using it as a political cudgel. So, you vilify one group of people, it unifies all these other people.
Or Russia? I don't think so.
ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: The answer is “no.” And those on the right who are targeting the LGBTQ+ community are on the wrong side of history, the facts bear that out. So, 8 in 10 Americans favor more laws to protect the LGBTQ+ community from discrimination. 67 percent of those are Republicans. The biggest voting bloc in 2024 will be Millennials and Gen Z-ers. We are the generation of marriage equality, we are the generation of freedom. We are not going backward on these issues.
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: We shall see. We’ll see.
FARAH GRIFFIN: To anyone in my party, it is not where the majority of the country is and it is such an egregious misreading.
BEHAR: Yeah, but your party tends to steal elections!
FARAH GRIFFIN: Well, they tried but they didn’t though.
SARAH HAINES: They didn’t win!
FARAH GRIFFIN: But it reminds me of my favorite verse --
BEHAR: They have more advanced ways of doing it, I bet.
FARAH GRIFFIN: My favorite verse from The Bible, in Ecclesiastes says “there's nothing new under the sun.” This has been tried. It's fear mongering. It’s trying to target the minority within the minority. Create fear and stoke it. It will not work.
SUNNY HOSTIN: But it has worked in the past and it's worked over and over and over again. And I will tell you that I completely agree, this is a cudgel, a political cudgel, this is just being used as a culture war. Only 1.6 percent of American adults are now transgender or non-binary. 1.6 percent. Then why do you choose that group to attack?!
And I go back to what LBJ said a long time ago. And I was trying to find it. He said, “If you can convince lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on and he’ll empty his pockets for you.” And that is what they are doing! They are attacking the LGBTQ+ community, because they have no real platform, they have no real programs, and are they out of step with this country, the only way that they win is by stealing the election or doing things like this! That is the truth!
[Applause]
FARAH GRIFFIN: The difference between politicians – Republican politicians and American voters, 70 percent of Republican voters support the LGBTQ+ community. They don't want this either.
GOLDBERG: Here's the thing, if that indeed is true, y'all need to get out and tell your politicians to quit doing this, because – I feel like people are making decisions for us as a country. That guy down in Florida, he's made decisions to create some sort of new country that only he's in charge of. If you want to see this stopped, this is on us. We can stop this.
