UPDATE: On May 5, the Facebook Oversight Board decided to uphold their previous ban of President Donald J. Trump from their platform for the next six months.
In light of the fact that a social media tribunal will decide on May 5 whether Trump can get his Facebook account back, it’s good to take note of all the famous people who should have had keys to their own accounts taken from them for promoting actual violence.
Looking back, several celebrities including George Lopez, LeBron James and others have tweeted awful things that could have easily been more associated with inciting violence than a Trump tweet, or a Trump speech in which the 45th President called his supporters to “peacefully” and “patriotically” protest at the Capitol on January 6.
If that non-violent speech was the specific reason for Trump’s banning – and it was – why would LeBron James, a celebrity with almost 50 million followers – not get removed from a social media platform for targeting a white police officer in Columbus, Ohio? Why wouldn’t George Lopez have his account terminated for tweeting images of decapitated Donald Trump? And what about Kathy Griffin’s infamous Trump decapitation photo? She’s still on Twitter.
When Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg discussed the initial decision to terminate Trump’s Facebook account, he said, “We believe the risks of allowing the president to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great.” These Hollywood people have massive reaches of their own, have tweeted things much more explicitly violent than Trump and are still allowed to stay on the platform. It’s clear that this is about political safety for the right side than it is about physical safety for everyone
Big Tech is left-wing, and it hates Trump. That’s why they barred him. But just to drive home the point for the umpteenth time, here are several high profile celebrities who should have been kicked off social media for explicitly inciting violence towards others.
LeBron James Uses Twitter to Sic Mob On Innocent Police Officer
Most recently, the world’s most famous athlete, LeBron James, composed an extremely reckless and hateful tweet directed at a Columbus, Ohio police officer. Of course no one deserves a hate train of nearly 50 million rabid LeBron James Twitter followers going after them, even if they did something wrong, but the officer who received the brunt of the The Lakers star’s ire did nothing wrong. In fact he saved the life of a young girl by shooting a teenager who was mid-swing in her attempts to stab her.
But James, the 36 year-old NBA superstar and leftist possessed with the BLM lies that caucasian police officers are hunting innocent African American, tired to sic a BLM mob on the officer. He tweeted a photo of the police man and wrote “YOU’RE NEXT” above it, accompanied by his desire for “#ACCOUNTABILITY.” Though how is “accountability” enforced at the hands of the anti-cop mob? Bricks through the officer’s home windows? Death threats to the officer’s innocent children? A physical attack from the mob itself? BLM protests did end up killing nearly 30 people last year, after all.
And despite such a reckless tweet – which James deleted because he knows it was bad – guess who still has access to 49.7 million followers on Twitter? Yup, LeBron James.
Chelsea Handler Tweets Lies To Get Minorities Into Violent Altercations With Cops
The former E! Late-night show host and comedian should have had her account suspended or at least heavily scrutinized by the Twitter overlords for encouraging American minority groups to resist arrest based on more Black Lives Matter-generated lies. On April 13, the Handler asked her 8 million Twitter followers, “Why would any person of color ever comply with a police officer when there is a 50/50 shot of getting ‘accidentally’ shot?”

Wow, talk about encouraging people of color to actively engage in an action that puts them in danger of being shot or at least tased and getting a criminal charge. On top of that, Handler’s “50/50” statistic is wildly erroneous. So in effect the woman is getting people to throw themselves in front of an officer’s weapon for the sake of a lie? This is promoting needless violence and pain in a community. Certainly Handler’s tweet should get her account kicked, especially if Trump telling people to “peacefully” conduct their right to protest at the nation’s Capitol is grounds for himself getting removed.
If not for that tweet, could Handler at least get suspended for all the unwanted nudity she throws up on the platform? At the very least she’s a danger to our sensibilities.
George Lopez Tweets Twice About Trump Getting Assassinated
Mexican-American comedian George Lopez is an atavistic Trump hater whose advocacy of violence towards the 45th president himself should disqualify him from having a social media account, at least if Trump got his removed. On two separate occasions the George Lopez Show star tweeted about Trump being killed.
The first instance of this happened on Twitter in 2016, when Lopez tweeted a cartoon image of former Mexican President Vincente Fox standing on a pile of skulls while holding the decapitated head of then-Republican Candidate Donald Trump. The illustration was surrounded by a caption which said, “Make America Great Again.” This wasn’t too far for Twitter apparently and his post wasn’t even removed. Also George still has a Twitter account with 1.8 million followers to this day.

The second incident of Lopez wishing assassination on Trump via social media happened in January 2020. That time, Lopez responded to a fake claim that Iran had put up an $80 million reward for anyone who would kill Trump in revenge for the US taking out top Iranian general Qasem Soleimaini, saying “We’ll do it for half.” Oh wow, Lopez certainly seems eager for presidential blood. But besides removing that specific post, Instagram – which is owned by FB – gave Lopez the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to stay on the platform.
Ellen Barkin Tweets About Death And ‘Rape’ For Those She Doesn’t Like
Big Easy and Diner actress Ellen Barkin is a real firebrand on Twitter, tweeting her violent thoughts towards Trump and other people she disagrees with in general. Back in 2019, the actress made a violent innuendo towards the 45th president that was frankly more in support of violence than Trump’s incriminating speech. In response to a White House press briefing from that year, Barkin tweeted, “this man should be removed…and not just from office.” Hmm, did she mean removed from existence? Seems like it. And that tweet still stands.

But Barkin saved her worst, most explicit wishing of violence on another person, disgraced comedian Louis C.K.. The shocking statement should have been deleted by Twitter and should have been enough to get the actress removed from the platform, or at least suspended. In response to one of C.K.’s routines, Barkin tweeted, “i hope louis ck gets raped.” She followed that up with “and shot.”
Though Barkin deleted both tweets, she still has a Twitter platform and hasn’t suffered any noticeable career consequences for the hate.
Kathy Griffin Tweets Decapitated Trump Twice, Twitter Yawns Twice
And who could forget comedian Kathy Griffin’s violent and disturbing Twitter stunt? In 2017, the washed-up celebrity attempted to stay relevant by posting a picture of herself holding a very bloody effigy of Trump’s decapitated head. Of course, Griffin suffered enormous public backlash for the disturbing photo, even getting rebuked on Twitter by Trump himself. Griffin deleted the photo, but still Twitter did nothing to her account, even when Griffin was the subject of a federal investigation because of it.
And to prove just how much Twitter yawned at Griffin’s disgusting social media antics, the comedian re-shared the photo on their platform again on November 4, 2020, the day after election day. That photo is still up right now and Griffin still gets to tweet merrily about any violent urge she imagines, apparently. Twitter hasn’t even removed it.

Say what you want about Trump, but the 45th president has never advocated for violence in any of the explicit ways these celebrities have. Sure, you might think he should be off Facebook and Twitter, but that means you agree that these famous people need to be forcefully removed from the platform as well. Every hour these people continue to remain on social media, is another hour that proves that this isn't about keeping Americans safe from harm, it’s about keeping Americans away from politics our tech overlords do not like.
